I drive an hour to work, and also take a lot of long trips. PROS: Stays hot/drinkable for up to about 3 hours, doesn't spill easily, fits in my cupholder in my car, the clip is handy. CONS: If you tighten it after making hot tea and don't open to drink it within the first hour, the heat will expand and make it almost impossible to open (will open and not break with vice grips, which I've had to use twice in 5 years), and hard to clean after the amount of use/abuse I put it through (my fault). The only thing I drink in this is tea, so I'm probably to blame for not cleaning it as well/often as I should. I just broke the rubber seal yesterday trying to clean it, that's why I'm back online and amazed to see this exact product is still on the market. All parts are easy to clean. The top parts can be popped apart and separated and the seal cleaned separately to prevent nooks and crannies from becoming corroded and mildewy/stinky. So many other mugs are not properly cleanable and get gross. That doesn't happen with this mug. If Nissan sold spare parts, that would be the only better thing I could wish for. I got this as a replacement for the same mug but actually haven't needed to stop using the old one which must be 3 or 4 years old at this point, though the washer is kinda stained. However, after several months the interior rubber starts to break apart and pieces will end up in your beverage. The warranty process is not fun -- You have to pay for the shipping back to Thermos and then they don't guarantee which model you will receive back. |
